Trailer Tested

Well... yesterday Jeff, David and I tested the trailer by picking up Jeff's 4,000# Lincoln.  The weight wasn't necessarily comfortable enough to me to get on I-65, so we just pulled it down 31.  Through this, I determined that I should repair the other axle's braking system and  install the weight distribution setup that I bought.  Also, the tires had some issues, so I plan to take it to Scott's and have them patched and balance them.  This should get us safe.  Then we can modify more later.

Sounds good. We won't have anything that heavy going forward. The 240 just weighed 2700 pounds before we stripped it down. We still need to remove its A/C and heater core to make it even lighter.

Maybe replace some or all of the glass with Lexan, too.

Anyway, 2500 pounds is going to feel a lot better on the trailer than 4000!
